Chai Pear Oatmeal

As always I am on the hunt for new yummy breakfast options. I am also a lover of chai tea. Lover is being modest. I am addicted… So this recipe is perfect for me and any other chai addicts out there.

This just takes a couple minutes of prep work the night before. Then you can pack this up for an easy breakfast at work or a quick breakfast before you leave for work.

Chai Pear Oatmeal

Based on a recipe by The Oatmeal Artist

  • 2 chai tea bags
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 2 tablespoons hemp seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • generous pinch of ground cloves, nutmeg, ginger, and allspice
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pear, diced
  • agave nectar, to taste

Steep chai tea in 1 cup of hot water. Give it at LEAST 10 minutes.

While tea is steeping, in a storage container combine rolled oats, hemp seeds, cinnamon, ground cloves, nutmeg, ginger, allspice.

Once tea has cooled, add vanilla extract. And place in a storage container.

When you are ready to eat, combine oat mixture and chai. Microwave for about 1 to 1 and a half minutes. Add diced pear and agave nectar to taste.

If you would like a thinner texture you can add some almond or soy milk. Also feel free to change up the fruits and seeds to whatever your favorites are.
